Portland Bocce Summer League for New teams: 

First, read the Rules on our webpage. They address the regulation size and weight of bocce balls. PBLA can loan you balls for the first few weeks but it’s better to purchase your own for practice, etc. We recommend Perfetta brand available at www.Playaboule.com. 

Games are scheduled weekly on your night of play for 14 weeks. Starting times rotate. Start at 6:00pm or at 7:30pm. Games are to 21 points or time limit of 80 minutes. 4-player minimum to 12-player maximum. Keep in mind vacations, etc. when considering how many team members you need. 

Registration priority is given to teams that played PBLA bocce last year. After they have registered into their preferred spots, registration opens to new teams to fill remaining spots. PBLA cannot guarantee a particular night, location, or time of games. 

Team Captains are responsible for registering the team, attending the Captain’s meeting at the beginning of the season, paying the season fee ($400), and completing the team roster on our webpage.  

It's Back! On May 3rd, join us for Il Sacco!

Join us for this pre-season mixer event on May 3rd. Individual random players form 4-person teams by drawing a number, "Out of the sack." Next round, mix it up and join a new team. 3 rounds are played for individual points. Winner is the player with the most points at the end. Open to everyone!

Adaptive League Sundays 

This year, the PBLA Foundation expanded our Adaptive Learners Program with a 6-week League. So much fun and joy for our 21 athletes, and volunteers! This competitive league formed 10 Doubles teams. The league began play at St Phili Neri courts on Sunday mornings, but the fall weather had other ideas. The final games and championship were held indoors at The People’s Courts due to rain. 

8 teams went to the finals on Sunday October 19th to play for 1st , 2nd , and 3rd place. Kate and RJ took the gold in a spectacular final game. Rachel and AubreyAnne placed second for silver, and Melissa and Rebekah placed third for bronze. We are so proud of our athletes for their skillful play and incredible sportsmanship. A big thank you to our volunteers: Regina Cameli, Sabin Johnson, Jesse Breon, Judy Keene, Becky Trullinger, and Sal Cambareri. A huge thank you also to the wonderful parents and caregivers for supporting the players. The league was such a success that it will return next year in the Summer.

Bocce Courts

The private bocce courts at St Philip Neri Catholic Church are open only to Portland Bocce League members and parishioners of St Philip Neri. 

There are 2 public bocce courts available at the North Park Blocks, NW 8th Ave and Glisan Street NW. They are free and open year-round. 

There are 3 bocce courts at Cedar Hills Park, 2300 SW Cedar Hills Blvd, Beaverton. Free and open to the public. 

The People’s Court’s at 2700 NE 82nd Ave Portland has 5 indoor Bocce Courts. They are available by the hour for a fee. Mention you’re a PBLA member and you will receive a 25% discount. TPC does not make reservations for bocce. On Friday nights, beginning at 7pm, the courts are free.

• The People's Courts offer Portland Bocce League Members a 25% discount on bocce court fees. Simply mention you're a PBLA member when you are paying for your court at the front desk.

• PBLA Lunch Special at TPC: From 11:30 am to 4:00 pm weekdays only. Buy lunch from Russel Street Kitchen and rent a bocce court for 1 hour for $5.

• Free bocce group lessons and supervised play with a PBLA mentor once a month via MeetUp. Check calendar for dates and time.
