Adaptive League Sundays

This year, the PBLA Foundation expanded our Adaptive Learners Program with a 6-week League. So much fun and joy for our 21 athletes, and volunteers! This competitive league formed 10 Doubles teams. The league began play at St Phili Neri courts on Sunday mornings, but the fall weather had other ideas. The final games and championship were held indoors at The People’s Courts due to rain.

8 teams went to the finals on Sunday October 19th to play for 1st , 2nd , and 3rd place. Kate and RJ took the gold in a spectacular final game. Rachel and AubreyAnne placed second for silver, and Melissa and Rebekah placed third for bronze. We are so proud of our athletes for their skillful play and incredible sportsmanship. A big thank you to our volunteers: Regina Cameli, Sabin Johnson, Jesse Breon, Judy Keene, Becky Trullinger, and Sal Cambareri. A huge thank you also to the wonderful parents and caregivers for supporting the players. The league was such a success that it will return next year in the Summer.

Many thanks to Regina Cameli for organizing and running this from start to finish.

PBLA Doubles 2025 Winners

Il Cavalieri, Jonathan Nicholas and Eric Jacobson

On a beautiful day August 9th, Sixteen 2-person teams rolled for the 2025 Doubles Trophy. Hit and Run (Regina Cameli and Mike Healey from Rompi Le Palle) went to the final game with Il Cavalieri (Jonathan Nicholas and Eric Jacobson). Both teams were rolling at their best and the score in this 15-point game was tied 14-14 at the last frame. With each ball thrown, the lead changed. Hit and Run was within inches. But Eric Jacobson’s final ball rolled past tight traffic to take the pallino and walk it down the court for the win! An exciting finish to a great game. Congratulations to both teams. Final score 15-14.

A huge thanks for the generosity of many people who brought food for St Philip Neri’s Food Pantry! This was such a success, we will be asking for pantry donations again at our end-of-season celebration on September 6th.

Team Challenge Inaugural Tournament Winners Rompi Le Palle!

On Saturday August 2nd, PBLA held our Team Challenge Inaugural at our new St Philip Neri Courts. Nine of our top fundraising teams participated in a free tournament to honor their team contributions to our new court project. Morning mimosas and a pizza lunch got everyone into a backyard party vibe. There were a lot of close, competitive games but in the end, Rompi Le Palle led by Regina Cameli pulled off the victory in the final match against Magnifico led by Becky Tullinger. Two great teams! Score: 21-16. Deboccery led by Rob Hingst finished 3rd. Wholley Rollers was 4th. Thanks to everyone who came out to play. And thanks to all who contributed to our Team Challenge!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2025

SINGLES TOURNAMENT CHAMPION;

RYAN MOSKAL

On Sunday, July 27th, 16 players vied for Numero Uno in 27 highly competitive matches. 4 pools of 4  whittled the competition down to 4 players advancing to semifinals; Gavin Amato playing Ryan Moskal, and Eric Jacobson competing against Judy Keene. Ultimately, Ryan and Eric moved on to play a fantastic final game, culminating in a win for Ryan with a final score of 21-15.
