About
Who We Are
The Portland Bocce League Association, a non-profit organization, supports, promotes and develops the venerable sport of bocce in Portland. On a pair of public courts located on the North Park Blocks, the association stages league competition and tournaments, welcoming players of all skill levels and assisting them to reach their full potential. Any person residing in Oregon or Southwest Washington is eligible for League membership. Registration now is closed for teams participating in the 2010 summer league: 32 teams will play on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from June 7 through August 26.
Bocce is an international game that has been played in Italy for thousands of years. Courts vary in size from 10′x50′ to 13′x90′. The public courts in the North Park Blocks at NW Glisan between 8th & Park Ave. are 12′x60′.
The courts are open to the public and are available on non-league nights anytime during park hours.
Each bocce ball weighs 2 pounds and the pallino (jack or starter ball) is 60-90mm in circumference.
